Just like buying the builders own home you can't do better than buying the boatbuilders own boat!
With hull design by Max Carter and meticulously crafted by Wayne Olsen (of Horizon Boats fame) in 2010 as his personal vessel, Shigari is a case study in classic sportfisher design, Kiwi craftsmanship and clever thinking.
The builders decades of real New Zealand boating experience are evident everywhere you look, from the vast internal volume, large aft gallery and flybridge staircase to the ingenious use of storage spaces and low maintenence engineering approach. As a sumptuous family cruiser or serious fishing platform Shigari has all bases covered.
With stunningly graceful, classic lines and huge flared bow she is a picture of muscular beauty - in any conditions.
Designed for engineering simplicity and cost effective operation Shigari is powered by a single 567hp C9 Caterpillar turning a 5 blade prop (with bow thruster for added agility). Comfortably cruising at 18-20 knots fuel burn is only 65-75 litres per hour and she can cruise all day at 10 knots sipping only 18 litres per hour for a potential 650nm range from her 1300L tanks (allowing 10% reserve).
With a 4.6m beam Shigari feels much larger than her 13.5m length and offers fantastic open plan entertaining and lounging spaces throughout. With a semi-enclosed flybridge featuring full glass front windscreens and a vast curved guest seat forward everyone can travel in comfort and safety no matter what the conditions.
Other key features include - Wide opening double transom doors, large hopper window from galley to cockpit, fresh and salt water wash down hose in cockpit, cavernous storage under cockpit floor, game rigged, underwater exhaust, tender with davit on foredeck, ducted heating, gas appliances (Westinghouse) with gas bayonet for BBQ in cockpit.
Shigari can only be truly appreciated by viewing in person so take the opportunity to stop by and see her at our on water sales arena at 123 Westhaven Drive.
